9-Hole Pitcher’s Pocket Pitching Aid

As a young pitcher, working on your command is much more important than high velocity. In other words, throwing a pitch where you want to is more important than throwing it hard.

Pitch location training is a great tool to help pitchers refine their command. A 9-hole pitching aid is a net divided into nine sections, approximately the size and location of the strike zone. With a bucket of balls, a pitcher can practice throwing at one of the nine holes, and this way refine his location inside the strike zone.

Insider Bat Baseball Pitching Trainer

This training item is actually a real baseball that has different colored finger marks that show the user where to hold the ball to throw different types of pitches. It includes different colors for: 4-seam fastball, 2-seam fastball, curveball, and slider.

The trainer includes a laminated card that explains how to throw each pitch to go along with the finger position.

This is considered an advanced training tool, and should only be used by advanced players seeking to learn to throw different pitches.

Jaeger J-Bands

J-Bands are a workout tool that helps pitchers do up to 11 different exercises to strengthen the muscles they use while pitching. These pitching specific exercises help strengthen your rotator cuff, one of the most frequent injuries in young pitchers.

Doing pitcher-specific workout at a young age can significantly improve a pitcher’s arm strength and resiliency.

Pitcher’s Power Stride

Pitcher’s Power Stride helps pitchers perfect their stride. Great name, huh? Many pitchers have a tendency to open their hips when stride towards home plate. The Pitcher’s Power Stride helps them keep their hips closed and use the proper stride.

The Power Stride is a small metal frame that holds a “flap”, similar to a mud flap on a truck. The pitcher sets the Power Stride up to the side of his pitcher’s mound. When he strides, he kicks the flap and sends his lead foot under the frame. This forces him to stride downward before opening his hips.

Conclusion

Whether you’re practicing hitting or pitching, there are some great baseball trainers available for you to use. Making the most of your tools will help you get an edge on the competition.
